Nickel is often alloyed with other metals to improve their strength and resistance to corrosion. Much like nickel, I hope this year adds strength and resistance to me.
Things that I learned in this year
- Talk to yourself like you talk to your bestie.
- It is difficult to make new friends now but keep trying.
- Religiously go on solo dates.
- Marry your best friend.
- It is okay to disappoint people to withhold your boundaries.
- With confidence, fake it till you make it.
- You can’t hate your body into changing.
- Create yearly OKRs instead of resolutions.
- Create systems instead of habits.
- It is never as bad or as good as it seems on social media
- Try out things you think you won’t like or could possibly do.
- Get your parents traveling.
- No is a complete sentence.
- You can’t pour from an empty glass, so take care of yourself first.
- You are allowed to walk away from situations that make you uncomfortable — without an explanation.
- Learn to rely on your instincts.
- You are not your thoughts, you are not your anxiety.
- Be patient yet relentless.
- Not everyone is entitled to know everything about you. You get to decide that.
- Learn to match a foundation for your skin tone.
- Embrace being cringy. That’s what’s gonna make you stand out.
- Best thing you can gift your body is consistency.
- Wear clothes you feel good in.
- Take a walk, it solves everything.
- Be patient with people you love.
- Wear that expensive perfume everyday. Don’t wait for good days, make them.
- Smile at strangers.
- In life, you get what you have the courage to ask for.
